Coastal Dune Lakes

Since Florida is a host of varying water bodies as much as it’s of sunshine, it’s not surprising to see picturesque lakes dominate the state. In South Walton, for instance, lies exceptional coastal dune lakes that are only seen in three other countries of the world. Since Florida has a thing for exceptionality, a whopping 15 of these coastal dune lakes reside at South Walton.

These natural treasures are at least 10,000 years old. There’s a convergence between the coastal dune lakes and the Mexico Gulf. Therefore, saltwater and organisms are easily transported by tides into them. Undoubtedly, other lakes like the Alligator Lake, Little Redfish Lake, and Western Lake come together to make Florida an undisputable tourist center.
