Florida Panhandle River Tubing Q: Is there a place close to Ft. Walton Beach where we could go river tubing, and if so where? Thank you -- Elizabeth A: You bet! There are a lot of excellent rivers in the area. In fact, the region around the town of Milton (which is north of Ft. Walton Beach) is known as the "canoe capital of Florida." Fortunately, the canoe outfitters there also offer tubing. You'll find most of the activity is on the Blackwater River. If you have your own tubes, you can visit Blackwater River State Park and put in on the river there.
