Cheap campsites in Florida: Primitive camping Q: Hi! I am from Quebec, Canada, and I'm traveling in Florida for 3 months. I'm looking for free campsites or real cheap ones (less than $5 a night) that are not located in a national forest. Thanks for your help! A: Bien sur. Florida has several state parks in which there are primitive campsites, and they cost $3 per night. You said you didn't want to camp in a national forest, but there are Florida state forests with primitive campsites that cost typically $4 per night. For free campsites, try those in lands managed by Florida's 5 water management districts.
